Tuesday’s Devotion

Have you rested today? If not, it’s a great time! Just like Jason showed us in church – we are called to rest!

Today’s Scripture: Genesis 3:1-13. Click the link to read the Scripture

What do you observe about today’s Scipture? What do you “see”? Who are the characters? What is happening in their situation? Are there any words or phrases that are being repeated? What about this passage stands out to you?

How you can you apply today’s Scripture in your life? What do you sense God saying to you through this Scripture or devotional time? Are there changes that you need to make in your life? Is God calling you to action?

Pray: What has God put on your heart during this devotional time to pray? Do you sense someone’s name, have you thought of a particular situation or current event that is being brought into mind? Is there a sin you need to confess? A blessing you can thank God for? Pray a part of this Scripture back to God, and close with a hearty, “Amen!”

Do: By acting on what we learn, we make God’s Word come to life. What activity can you do today that will bring life to the Word you’ve just read?

Connect: Spend time in conversation with someone around you or call/text/email Jason! What was the high point of your day? What was a low point? What does it mean to be created in the image of God? What about yourself or someone else reminds you of God? What is your favorite thing that God has created?

Review: I believe in God the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, is seated at the right hand of the Father, and will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic* church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
